Brilliant Blue & Gold

Good Food & Fun at the 2011 Blue & Gold Banquet...

Yum!  What great food we ate at the Blue and Gold Banquet this year.  Not to mention the skits, the awards, and that crazy Wolf leader Marc helping us all blow off some steam.  Our theme of 'turn back the clock' wasn't lost on the great centerpieces as well as the reminiscing about our once little Tigers who were now receiving their Arrow of Light award.  Congrats to the Webelos II on their hard work!  And a special thanks for Linda Shapiro for her hard work!

Start Your Engines!

The FSS Cafeteria turned into a super speedway.

Nothing beats a hot Pinewood Derby race during the cold winter.  Both the cars and the competition was hot requiring a few run-offs at the end to see who would win by a nose.  A diverse collection of cars from the really bizarre to the really interesting.  And who could forget the famous block-of-wood.  Thanks to all who helped especially our derby race chairman Doug Mullen who's work on the track electronics meant that 80+ races went quickly and smoothly.  If you have any great pics please send them along.

Camporee Blew us Away!

The 100th Anniversary Southaven Camporee was Filled with of Fun.

The Camporee at Southaven Park to celebrate scouting's 100th anniversary was a blast with so many activities and beautiful scenery.  Those brave enough to camp Friday during the wind storm woke to a gorgeous day.  The scouts completed stations to help them towards badges, they rode trains, rowed boats, and were treated to a night concert and spectacular laser light show.  Check out the photo gallery.
